How can this underrated skin treatment help you achieve your skin goals?

You may have experienced high frequency as part of a facial treatment, or seen it pop up on social media. Even attending school to become a licensed esthetician, we only briefly went over the use and benefits of high frequency. But the more I learn about high frequency, the more I see it as an incredibly underrated tool in the skincare game! When used with a consistent skincare regimen and treatments in studio, high frequency treatments are a game changer! But what is high frequency, and more importantly, how can it help you achieve your skin goals??
What is High Frequency?
High frequency machines use a glass electrode filled with neon or argon gas to treat the skin. When applied to the skin, an electrical current passes through the glass electrode causing the gas to glow and produce a buzzing sound. This produces heat on the skin and creates ozone in the space between the electrode and the skin. While it shouldn't be uncomfortable, the sound can be a bit surprising, and some people do experience a slight tingle of the skin.
Benefits of High Frequency
There are many benefits to adding high frequency into your studio care routine. This treatment oxygenates the skin, stimulating collagen and elastin production (goodbye fine lines and wrinkles!!!) and encourages skin cell turnover. On top of that, high frequency kills acne causing bacteria! If your goal is to lessen or prevent signs of aging, high frequency reduces fine lines and wrinkles, soothes puffy eyes, and lightens dark undereye circles. Is getting rid of pesky breakouts your daily struggle? High frequency aids in detoxifying your skin, minimizes inflammation, creates an antibacterial effect, AND speeds up the healing process of the skin! There is even a special electrode for use on the scalp to stimulate hair growth and promote a healthier scalp.
Is High Frequency the Right Choice for You?
While the benefits can fit the needs of most of our clients, it may not be right for you if you have any of the following conditions:

Epilepsy or other seizure disorder
Excessive metal in your mouth (ask your Esthie Bestie!)

Excessive jewelry in the treatment area (unless it can be removed)
